In addition to the announcement of each category winner for the 2015-16 Kansas deer season we could crown a new King of Kansas Typical or Non-Typical should someone enter, qualify and win. In 2012 we crowned the first ever King of Kansas Typical and Non-Typical bucks, Rachelle Karl’s 182 1/8 inch monster as our King of Kansas Typical and Lucas Cochren’s 238 4/8 inch bruiser as our King of Kansas Non-Typical. In 2013 we saw Don Parr topple Rachelle Karl's King of Kansas Typical with a stunning 194 6/8 inch monster. Then in 2104 we watched as Cade Hays brought in a new King of Kansas Non Typical that topped Lucas Cochren's monster by a mere 2/8 of an inch with a net score of 238 6/8 inches!
